Head of Programmes and Project Management


Salary: £90,000, Car Allowance, Private Medical


We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Programme Manager to oversee customer-funded initiatives and strategic R&D for Innovate Recruitment Ltd.


You will take immediate advantage of ongoing projects, managing and leading a cross-functional team of more than ten engineers and technical personnel to provide product to consumers and generate income.


The position is heavily focused on products, with a strong emphasis on project management, team leadership, and strategic planning.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams to complete projects on schedule, under budget, and with high quality.
  2. Ensure efficient project management methods are regularly used and prove that the project management procedure is followed.
  3. Set an example for your team by hitting goals and providing coaching to those in less senior positions.
  4. Precise project scheduling in Microsoft Project, together with publication into the MS Project Server platform.
  5. Ensure the project's scope is well understood, recorded, and maintained in collaboration with the client—internal or external.
  6. Determine project risk, problems, and dependencies and attempt to resolve them before escalating the situation.
  7. Work together with the finance team to create and track a budget, while ensuring that pertinent data, like schedule-derived ETCs and factored risk cost exposure, is available and analysed.
  8. Create dashboards for every project you work on and provide the Senior Leadership Team with a monthly status report.

Requirements:

  1. A great deal of expertise overseeing engineering projects from bid to production, with a focus on production, for the whole or a portion of the lifespan.
  2. Proven track record of inspiring teams to complete projects on schedule and under budget.
  3. Expertise in using and comprehending project management software, including Microsoft Project, Microsoft Project Server, and other enterprise project management technologies.

Due to the nature of some of the projects you will be working on, you will be eligible, or already hold, security clearance and will be a UK National.
