Job Overview

This exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Civil Engineering Estimator and Commercial Specialist to join a privately-owned, independent civil engineering/groundworks contractor.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for estimating and preparing tender submissions for a range of civil engineering projects. They will work closely with commercial and procurement colleagues to identify sub-contractor packages, prepare enquiries, and interrogate returns to select suppliers.

In addition, they will contribute to the risk review/assessment process where required and provide coaching and support to junior members of the team.

Requirements
  1. Experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator, preferably in the civil engineering/groundworks sector, with the ability to prepare tender submissions from first principles.
  2. Strong contractual and commercial awareness, with the ability to understand and interpret drawings and other construction information.
  3. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build lasting relationships with colleagues, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
