Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced MHE Trainer to join our team at Culina Group. As an MHE Trainer, you will be responsible for leading the site Health & Safety culture, training MHE staff to use the FMS system, and completing site inductions for all FTE/Agency staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the site Health & Safety culture and ensure it is a top priority
  • Train MHE staff to use the FMS system and ensure they are competent in its use
  • Complete site inductions for all FTE/Agency staff and ensure they are aware of site safety procedures
  • Support the Risk Assessment (RA) and Safe Working Practices (SWP) completion with nominated personnel
  • Provide high-level technical skills training to support operations and ensure all training is completed and recorded in line with company policy
  • Develop a site skills matrix to ensure all MHE operators are competent and refresher training is completed within specified time frames
  • Actively manage the number of MHE operators to minimize skill fade and risk from inexperienced and infrequent users
  • Ensure ongoing competence of all MHE operators through refresher training, recorded workplace assessments, and other training as necessary
  • Assist in the investigation of on-site and MHE-related incidents/accidents
  • Maintain a proactive approach to reduce risk from MHE operations and develop learning from experience briefings to prevent further occurrences
  • Assist in creating Safe Systems of Work and suitable and sufficient risk assessments of MHE activities
  • Ensure hazards are correctly identified and control measures introduced to eliminate or reduce risk as far as reasonably practicable
  • Review GAP analysis of safety audits with site management to ensure all areas are completed
  • Liaise with operational management to ensure all site training requirements are covered across all shifts
  • Work as part of the Site MHE instructor team to ensure all training is completed and recorded in line with company policy
  • Participate as an active member of the wider management team and offer suggestions for solving problems and improving site safety

Requirements

  • Able to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail
  • Must be a team player who is capable of working on their own initiative
  • Able to work to tight deadlines
  • Must be flexible in approach to work and shift patterns to cover for training
  • Should have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to solve problems
