About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Civils Engineer to join our team at Murphy. As a Senior Civils Engineer, you will play a key role in the delivery of our major enhancement project, Cambridge South Station.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and mentor junior engineers and site staff
  • Assist with the design and implementation of temporary works schemes
  • Identify, coach, and develop key staff members
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures
  • Maintain good working relationships with clients, designers, and the supply chain
  • Advise engineers on setting out methods and techniques
  • Ensure that drawings and specification documents contain sufficient information for construction
  • Communicate with foremen and supervisors to ensure understanding of information provided
  • Oversee the selection and requisition of materials and plant
  • Prepare written risk assessments and method statements
  • Keep a daily site diary and record work-related discussions
  • Ensure that inspection and test plans are completed as required

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in large civil engineering projects
  • PTS certification
  • Ability to produce and manage safe systems of work
  • Proven experience with surveying and CAD techniques
  • Ability to communicate and present to senior management and clients
  • Understanding of commercial issues in undertaking a large-scale construction project
  • Ability to discuss engineering issues with people across various levels and disciplines
  • Excellent knowledge of current civil engineering legislation and Health & Safety and Environmental legislation
