We are seeking an experienced SHEQ Advisor to join our client's team in their power networks division. As a key member of the organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance across their construction sites.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the construction environment and possess a NEBOSH General or Construction certificate. Familiarity with utilities is highly desirable. A full UK driving license, car ownership, and willingness to travel are essential.

This site-based position entails monitoring direct employees and subcontractors through regular site inspections and management audits. The SHEQ Advisor will provide guidance on various specialist areas, support incident management, and deliver training sessions on health, safety, and environmental issues.

Key responsibilities include:

  • ">
  • Monitoring and advising on risk assessments, risk management, fire safety, CDM regulations, hazardous substances, and noise management">
  • Liaising with external bodies, including the Health and Safety Executive and clients">
  • Supporting incident management and investigation processes">
  • Presenting toolbox talks, team talks, and relevant training materials on health, safety, and environmental issues">
  • Delivering induction training to operatives and new starters">

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • Knowledge and experience of CDM Regulations within a construction environment, utilities being desirable">
  • Full UK driving license, a car, and willingness to travel are essential">

Benefits of this role include a competitive daily rate of £182 (PAYE) or £240 (umbrella or CIS), working 45 hours per week with typical weekdays starting at 07:30. While weekends may involve shorter working days, the same rate applies. With up to 10% flexible working available, this role suits professionals with a passion for health, safety, and environmental compliance.
