Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Nuclear Civil Engineer to join our team at Egis Group. As a Discipline Lead, you will provide technical expertise and support for ongoing EPR design projects, including Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a technical leader for ongoing EPR design projects, providing technical support and guidance.
  • Collaborate with other Egis subsidiaries in the UK in the field of Civil Engineering to exchange best practices and promote cooperation.
  • Assist the sales team and head of the UK branch in seeking new projects, new clients in the UK.
  • Maintain relationships with institutes and technical associations such as the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) and the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) in the UK.
  • Ability to propose innovative solutions using data and Building Information Modeling (BIM) technologies to improve design and construction processes.
  • Stay updated with industry advancements, new technologies, and best practices in nuclear structural engineering.
  • Represent Egis at conferences and technical seminars in the UK, sharing the company's knowledge and experiences.
Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a strong academic background in Civil Engineering or a related field, and proven experience as a technical lead in Civil & Structural Engineering, preferably in the Nuclear sector.

Key Requirements:

  • A strong academic background with a Higher education degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience of acting as technical lead in Civil & Structural Engineering, preferably in the Nuclear sector.
  • Significant experience in the field of Nuclear Civil Engineering is highly advantageous, ideally in the UK, including on EPR design projects.
  • Excellent technical expertise in Civil Engineering, with in-depth knowledge of current standards and practices.
  • Excellent report writing skills with the ability to self-check and produce accurate work.
  • Project management – experience and understanding of the needs and approaches to the engineering consultancy and design markets, including relationships with clients, work planning and commercial management.
  • Good knowledge of the UK Nuclear market.
