Birmingham, Birmingham, United Kingdom ENGINEERINGUK Full time

At ENGINEERINGUK, we are committed to providing a safe and efficient railway for everyone.

About Us

We operate and maintain the railway infrastructure 24/7, 365 days a year. Our passengers and freight users are at the heart of everything we do.

We help connect people to their friends and families and get goods to their destination safely and efficiently.

Our Route

Central route is at the heart of Britain's railway. The route covers a major part of the national rail network and is a key commuter line in and out of Birmingham, with hundreds of thousands of passengers and thousands of tonnes of freight carried within our route each week.

Birmingham New Street station, the busiest station outside of London, is located on our route, with more than 170,000 passengers using it every day.

Job Description

A rare opportunity has arisen within our Asset Protection team for an Infrastructure Interface Project Coordinator.

You will be accountable for safely and seamlessly integrating complex multi-disciplinary externally funded key schemes and major enhancements into the railway environment, minimising impacts on existing railway operations and operational infrastructure.

You will leverage your knowledge and understanding of rail-related risks and constraints to facilitate solutions that align with external client objectives while meeting all stakeholder requirements.

  • You will develop and deliver solutions for externally funded key projects and schemes, high-value, politically sensitive, and multi-disciplinary projects (Levels of Control 1, 2, 3 & 4), managing the seamless integration of all project risks affecting the operational railway.
  • You will engage with stakeholders to ensure compliance with Network Rail governance and assurance processes, facilitating compliance against the Railways Act and Network Licence.
  • You will work closely with Construction Design Management (CDM) Client and other duty holders to establish principles for project compliance with the CDM Regulations.
  • You will lead the interface with projects to secure and allocate resource and assure delivery of projects in compliance with Network Rail processes and procedures.
  • You will identify opportunities to reduce Network Rail asset and maintenance liabilities, resolve conflicting works, and drive efficiencies.

The estimated salary for this role is £80,000 - £100,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

This is a challenging but rewarding role that requires strong communication and project management skills, as well as a thorough understanding of rail infrastructure and operations.
