Outdoor Primary Forest School Lead

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dynamic and experienced Outdoor Primary Forest School Lead to join a popular SEMH School in Burnley. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering the Forest Schools programme across the school, working with students from KS2 to KS4.

About the Role

The SEMH School in Burnley is a 'Good' rated institution that aims to provide the highest standards of teaching and learning. The school delivers a comprehensive curriculum with a focus on enjoyment and excellence, encouraging students to be independent learners. The school caters for students with a range of social and emotional mental health (SEMH) needs and behavioural difficulties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver the Forest Schools programme across the school
  • Work with students from KS2 to KS4
  • Plan and deliver quality Forest Schools sessions
  • Write and check risk assessments for sites and tools used
  • Ensure health and safety procedures are in place
Requirements
  • Level 3 Leader Course
  • First Aid qualification
  • Experience working with groups of young people
  • HLTA Level 3 qualification
  • Ability to lead, motivate and organise pupils
  • Knowledge and understanding of working with a range of learning difficulties

This is a long-term full-time placement, 5 days a week, with the possibility of extension for the right candidate. The school is based in Burnley with excellent public transport links and a large onsite staff parking.
