Electrical Engineering Specialist

Acorn by Synergie is seeking an Electrical Engineering Specialist to join their team. As an Electrical Engineering Specialist, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and inspection work to professional standards.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum HNC level in electrical or process control engineering, or equivalent experience. You will have relevant plant experience in electrical/process control systems and be capable of supervising personnel in the safe execution of engineering repair work.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Underpin manufacturing performance and support manufacturing improvement and works development plans.
  2. Identify improvement opportunities through collaborative working with relevant groups.
  3. Ensure that changes to plant, process procedures and organization are appropriately risk assessed in line with the works management of change process.
  4. Provide engineering expertise & advice in order to diagnose and correct complex faults in the manufacturing process equipment.
  5. Ensure that electrical maintenance work undertaken is completed to time and to appropriate safety and engineering standards.
  6. Develop expertise and keep up to date in maintenance techniques and equipment development applicable to a heavy manufacturing environment by self-study and attendance on appropriate courses.
  7. Provide comprehensive reports on breakdowns, repairs and related engineering activities where appropriate recommending improvements to equipment or systems.
Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  1. Good understanding of electrical safety.
  2. Experience of working with industrial/domestic wiring.
  3. Ability to interpret electrical drawings.
  4. Expertise with AC and DC motor/gearbox drive systems of various configurations.
  5. Experience of digital drives and PLCs.
  6. A systematic problem-solving approach.
  7. SAP knowledge & basic Microsoft IT skills.
