Merchandiser Role

Our client, a leading garment and accessory supplier to the high street, is seeking a highly ambitious and confident Assistant Merchandiser/Merchandiser to join their team.

This role will involve assisting the account managers and merchandise teams across multiple high street accounts, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Negotiate prices with factories and customers, ensuring competitive pricing and timely delivery.
  • Raise new orders internally and send to overseas factories/in-country merchandisers, ensuring accurate and efficient processing.
  • Check all details on customer contracts, guaranteeing compliance and accuracy.
  • Liaise with factories/in-country merchandisers daily, via email and phone, regarding approvals/rejections.
  • Update and analyze internal and customer critical paths, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
  • Conduct weekly Skype calls with factories, maintaining open communication and resolving any issues promptly.
  • Send sample submissions – lab dips/strike-offs to customers, ensuring quality and accuracy.
  • Coordinate between licensing and QC departments, ensuring sample approvals and quality control.
  • Liaise with logistics departments to ensure goods are delivered on time, meeting customer expectations.
  • Liaise with design departments to resolve any design issues and request high-resolution artwork for factory production.
  • Check label artworks and provide approval to factories, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Identify production issues and deal with any problems that arise, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Ability to read test reports and send production pieces to the lab, ensuring quality control.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships, attending customer meetings and resolving any issues promptly.
Requirements:
  • At least 1 year's merchandising experience in the fashion industry, with a strong understanding of the sector.
  • Highly organized, with excellent time management and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meeting tight deadlines and coping with changing circumstances.
  • Attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and quality in all aspects of the role.
  • Proactive approach, identifying and resolving issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Previous experience in licensing would be an advantage, but not essential.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office packages and Outlook, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
