About the Role:

Accountant, Financial Accounting

As a Financial Accountant at GoCardless, you will play a crucial role in preparing the group's annual consolidated financial statements and regulatory reporting. You will be responsible for managing the migration of regulatory reporting tasks for acquired entities and ensuring compliance with FCA, ACPR, and US state authorities.

  • Manage the migration of regulatory reporting tasks for acquired entities.
  • Prepare monthly group consolidated accounts and statutory accounts of subsidiaries.
  • Support external audits and interact with auditors.
  • Maintain internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Research and resolve accounting issues, including evaluation and implementation of new accounting pronouncements for IFRS and US GAAP compliance.
  • Collaborate with financial controllers to ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting for key processes and products.
  • Deliver process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of accounting, reconciliation, and control environment.
  • Prepare financial reporting for investors.
  • Participate in cash flow reporting.

Requirements:

  • 5-8 years' experience in a similar position or prior audit experience in a Big 4.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of consolidation, statutory reporting, French GAAP, and IFRS standards.
  • Self-starter who can work independently to identify and resolve accounting issues.
  • Proven skills in analyzing processes with delivery of process simplification and improvement through automation/system development.
  • Excellent communication skills to explain complex concepts to non-experts.
  • Integrity and analytical approach.

  • Experience in fast-growing scaleup environment.
  • Experience in fintech/payments.
  • Knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements for payment service providers.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP & PCEC accounting.
  • Fluent in French.

Estimated Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum.
