Job Title: Paediatric Oncology Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paediatric Oncology Nurse Specialist to join our team at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care to children and young people with cancer, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care coordination.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert care to children and young people with cancer, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure effective care coordination and communication.
  • Develop and maintain own clinical skills and knowledge of the oncology specialty, staying up-to-date with new advances in treatment and research.
  • Participate in clinical governance and risk management, including audit and guideline development.
  • Contribute to service development, including the introduction of clinical changes and the development of oncology protocols and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse child with a degree in a health-related subject.
  • Relevant experience and professional qualification in the care of children and young people with cancer.
  • Recognised teaching and mentoring qualification.
  • Recent evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Advanced Communications Skills Training or prepared to work towards.
