Estimated Salary: £15.57 - £19.56 per hour

Job Description:

The successful candidate will assist in compiling and maintaining the annual Register of Electors by processing voter registration forms during the canvass and monthly updates, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. This involves scanning, data input, system checks, and effectively handling enquiries.

  • To support the registration of special category voters, including absent, overseas, and foreign nationals.
  • To contribute to the timely preparation and delivery of elections, by-elections, and referenda, undertaking election and count duties within the set timetable. This includes booking polling venue locations, recruiting station staff, processing postal vote applications, and producing stationery.
Responsibilities:
  1. Process individual voter registration forms during the annual canvass and monthly updates.
  2. Assist in registering special category voters.
  3. Support the preparation and delivery of elections, by-elections, and referenda.
  4. Undertake election and count duties as required.
  5. Communicate effectively with the public, council members, and officers via face-to-face interactions, phone calls, or email, demonstrating strong customer service.
Qualifications and Experience:

The ideal candidate should possess a good general education standard (A-level equivalent) and have experience using ICT systems and software, communicating with the public, and working in an elections office.
