About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and qualified Speech and Language Therapist to join our dynamic therapy team at West Heath School.

The successful candidate will work holistically across the school to support students' wellbeing, assisting them in navigating their social communication challenges and building self-confidence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and respond to referrals for speech and language interventions, providing tailored support to meet individual and group needs.
  • Plan and deliver speech and language therapy sessions, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure effective communication strategies.
  • Manage a caseload, conducting assessments and maintaining confidential records, while building non-judgemental relationships with students.
  • Offer training and support to school staff on effective communication strategies, contributing to safeguarding and the welfare of students.
Requirements
  • Accredited membership of the RCSLT and HCPC registration.
  • Recognised Speech and Language Therapy qualification.
  • Experience working with adolescents and young people with social, emotional, and mental health issues.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and strong communication skills.
