Main Responsibilities

As a Children's Community Nursing Specialist, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and directing care and interventions to evaluate their effectiveness. You will also delegate the delivery of care where appropriate, in line with NHS Wales' delegation framework and the NMC Code of Practice.

You will undertake clinical sessions in various clinical areas across Swansea Bay University Hospitals, performing highly specialized physical and clinical skills with accuracy, in accordance with departmental policies. Additionally, you will undertake non-medical prescribing within your competencies.

You will document and report clearly to ensure accuracy, continuity of care, and enhance understanding by others. You will support a culture that promotes person-centered, safe, and effective care, establishing and maintaining effective communication with patients and carers/relatives, and professionals across health and social services.

You will seek appropriate advice/alert agencies when there are any concerns regarding potential/actual risk to any patient or their dependents, such as child safeguarding, domestic violence, protection of the vulnerable adult, mental capacity, and deprivation of liberty.

You will interpret and respond to patient/carer feedback suggestions and complaints in a timely and sensitive manner.

Job Requirements

You will need to have substantial experience as a Registered Nurse and evidence of Continued Professional Development. Knowledge and understanding of the CNS role are desirable, as well as epilepsy training/course.
