About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Surveyor - Asset Manager to join our team in York. As an Asset Engineer (Buildings) within Network Rail, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of 1000+ building-related assets, including stations, offices, depots, and lineside buildings, across the Eastern region.

You will be embedded within a supportive team with a shared vision to provide a high level of service for the 1.8 billion passengers who travel the rail network every year. Your actions will have a real impact on local communities, including your own.

Network Rail is a business renowned for its emphasis on personal and professional development, and you will be encouraged to undertake further training and competencies. You will also be supported in working towards your Chartership, if you have the drive and ambition to do so.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing key stakeholders, such as Train Operating Companies/Station Managers, for reactive works/maintenance requirements, surveys, and building fabric-related projects.
  • Liaising with contractors and in-house staff for condition surveys and recommending remedial and renewal works.
  • Prioritizing building fabric-related maintenance/renewal works, with health and safety and compliance being paramount.

Requirements
  • HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in a relevant field, such as Building Surveying, Construction, Architecture, or Structural Engineering.
  • Previous experience managing high volumes of Building Surveying contracts.
  • Commutable distance from York HQ, with a high level of resilience and excellent communication skills.
