We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join our Automated Storage & Retrieval Systems (ASRS) team. As a key member of our Grid development team, you will be responsible for performing complex simulations and analysis of the ASRS physical storage infrastructure to predict failure modes against specific load cases.
Key Responsibilities- Perform FE modelling in Comsol to analyze the structural integrity of our ASRS systems
- Develop internal modelling and analysis tools to reduce development iteration time
- Collaborate with global SMEs to quickly problem solve across product load combinations and regional constraints
- Prepare reports and design changes to ensure safe and efficient operation of our ASRS systems
- Make calculations about pressures, loads, stresses, and fatigue to ensure the structural integrity of our systems
- Select construction materials based on their strength and durability
- Provide technical advice on safe designs and construction practices
- Analyze configurations of basic components to ensure optimal performance
- Communicate solutions and designs to varying levels of seniority in both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ensure quality and timely delivery of your own work
- Estimate work and contribute to project planning
- Identify and communicate technical risks and mitigate them
- Support design variation studies and contribute to peer/design reviews
- Be the point of contact for structural technical queries
We are looking for a highly experienced structural engineer with a strong background in stress analysis and FE analysis. You should have the ability to conduct FE analysis in modern multiphysics tools and identify and mitigate technical risk through calculation and simulation. You should also be able to liaise with professionals from other disciplines and work independently and as part of a team.
You should have a strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills and be able to work and communicate progress under pressure within tight deadlines. You should also be able to assess, challenge, and identify gaps in technical requirements and influence concepts to meet technical requirements.
