Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Resuscitation Team for a full-time Resuscitation Officer to support the provision of a high-quality resuscitation service across Somerset Foundation NHS Trust.
Main Duties
- Organise and deliver resuscitation/clinical emergency response training of differing levels within the demographic diversity of the Trust, using both classroom sessions and in situ simulation.
- Lead and support clinical emergencies within acute base site, as part of the cardiac arrest team.
- Oversight of emergency equipment used in resuscitation.
- Facilitate focused audit within the remit of Resuscitation Services (cardiac arrest, emergency trolley).
- Implement evidence-based practice and quality improvement projects aimed at improving patient safety.
- Organise, facilitate, and support Deteriorating Patient training delivery.
- Organise, facilitate, and support Clinical Skills delivery.

Qualifications
- Registered healthcare professional (Nurse, ODP, Paramedic).
- Resuscitation Council (UK) Advanced Life Support (ALS) Instructor.
- Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards).
Experience
- Two years post-registration experience within an acute healthcare setting (Critical Care/ED/CCU/Pre-Hospital Care).
- Previous clinical experience of dealing with seriously ill patients and/or cardiac arrest situations.
- Working with multidisciplinary teams in person and virtually.
Additional Criteria
- Evidence of a good standard of Literacy/English language skills.
- Excellent communication skills, including verbal, non-verbal, and written.
- Able to support colleagues during and after a resuscitation event.
- Able to present complex information to individuals and groups of the multidisciplinary teams.
