Job Title: PHP Software Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled PHP Software Engineer to join our team in London. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in PHP and MySQL, with at least 5 years of commercial experience.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of developing software with PHP and MySQL, and will be comfortable working with back-end business logic and front-end development using jQuery.

The role will involve working on a Linux server, with a focus on database optimisation and caching technologies such as Memcached, Redis or Varnish.

We are looking for a team player who can work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of humour and a willingness to learn and adapt.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop software with PHP and MySQL
  • Work on a Linux server with a focus on database optimisation and caching technologies
  • Work with back-end business logic and front-end development using jQuery
  • Collaborate with the team to deliver high-quality software solutions

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of commercial experience with PHP and MySQL
  • Strong knowledge of back-end business logic and front-end development using jQuery
  • Experience of working on a Linux server with a focus on database optimisation and caching technologies
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Advantageous But Not a Must:

  • Great knowledge of Apache, specifically Mod Rewrite
  • Good working knowledge of Linux, including command line
  • Server administration experience
  • Ecommerce experience
  • Smarty
