About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Speech Therapist to join our Specialist Learning Disability Health Team as a Learning Disability Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to make a meaningful contribution to the lives of individuals with learning disabilities in South West Yorkshire.

The post holder will be responsible for providing specialist speech and language therapy assessment and treatment for service users in receipt of care from community services, enabling them to engage in a range of individual and group community-based treatment activities.

You will be actively involved in the promotion of Speech and Language Therapy within the service area and work flexibly to meet the needs of the service and the client group. As a Learning Disability Specialist, you will contribute to the leadership and development of the team, working closely with other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care.

The successful candidate will have extensive clinical practice skills, including individual and group work, and a detailed knowledge of clinical governance and its application. They will also possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work autonomously and set own priorities.
