About the Role

We are seeking an experienced theatre practitioner to join our theatre leadership team at Barts Health NHS Trust. The successful candidate will have significant theatre scrub experience in Cardiac and Thoracic specialties and a passion for delivering high-quality nursing care.

The role will involve leading in Thoracic and participating in Cardiac, including coordinating and managing challenging situations. Strong leadership skills and a commitment to delivering outstanding care are essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead in Thoracic and participate in Cardiac theatre teams
  • Coordinate and manage challenging situations
  • Deliver high-quality nursing care and contribute to service improvement

Requirements
  • NMC/HCPC registration
  • Relevant first degree or equivalent
  • Appropriate peri-operative post-registration course
  • Mentorship course or equivalent teaching qualification
Desirable
  • Masters or working towards
  • Experience in multiple surgical specialties, including cardiac surgery
  • Experience in theatre coordination and team management
  • Evidence of participation in quality improvement and clinical audit
