Mergers and Acquisitions Specialist

The Mergers and Acquisitions Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the company's M&A function, driving pipeline development, converting new opportunities into mandates, executing deals, and managing client relationships.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Head of M&A in developing and executing M&A strategies, including deal origination, due diligence, and transaction execution.
- Collaborate with the debt advisory and marketing functions to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
- Manage M&A transactions, including project management, client communication, and stakeholder engagement.
- Provide strategic guidance to clients on commercial decisions and agreements.
- Contribute to the Business Development Forum to drive pipeline development and go-to-market strategy.
- Conduct market research and generate content for marketing communications to support business growth.
- Develop sector insights and collateral with support from the marketing team.
- Represent Shaw & Co at industry networking events to promote the firm's expertise.
- Lead a team of professionals, including setting objectives, conducting regular reviews, and providing guidance and support.
- Build and review financial models, including integrated business financial projections, company valuations, and exit returns.
- Review and comment on financial information provided by clients from a corporate finance perspective.
- Undertake market research to build understanding of client industries and identify potential buyers, sellers, and comparable transactions.
- Write analysis reports and create visual aids to illustrate key points.
- Prepare written reports and investment materials using Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe InDesign.
- Manage the drafting of documents, capturing and implementing client and team feedback.
- Set up and manage due diligence processes, including financial, tax, legal, commercial, and technical aspects.
- Stay up-to-date with Shaw & Co's strategy, sector, client, and regulatory developments.
- Engage in continuing professional development to refresh and develop technical and leadership skills.
- Become a trusted and reliable project manager for M&A transactions.
- Strong commercial awareness and business acumen.
- Team player with flexibility to adapt to the needs of a dynamic specialist advisory firm.
- High level of project management and organisational skills.
- Advanced Excel competency.
- Negotiation and project management skills.
- At least 2 years' experience within corporate finance.
- £50-60k basic salary, plus uncapped bonus scheme.
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
- Flexible working under consideration.
