Mechanical Plumber Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Plumber to join our team at a large Healthcare site in Hackney. This role involves performing both planned and reactive maintenance as part of a dedicated team of engineers.

This site offers additional training opportunities and will openly look at someone who is looking to gain additional skillsets, qualifications or simply enhance the skills in the plumbing field.

You will be working on a government healthcare facility looking after a mixture of labs, office spaces and hospitality areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out planned maintenance on plumbing systems and mechanical equipment.
  • Respond to reactive maintenance requests and troubleshoot issues promptly.
  • Perform repairs and installations as required.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work.
  • Participate in a 1 in 4 weeks call-out rota, with a standby payment of £100 per week and a minimum of 4 hours paid per call-out.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Relevant qualifications in Mechanical Engineering/Plumbing (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing/Mechanical Engineering).
  • Proven experience in mechanical plumbing, preferably in a commercial or industrial setting.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and the capability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable, proactive, and committed to delivering high-quality service.
