Senior 3D Creative Designer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior 3D Creative Designer to join our team in a full-time and permanent role. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Creative/Concept Design and be able to support this with a portfolio and examples of their retail design skills.

The successful candidate will be able to conduct research and gather insights that consider psychology and customer behaviors, which will then translate into design outputs. They will also be able to take briefs directly from clients and account managers, lead projects, and guide junior team members through the process.

The role involves generating creative concept design ideas through sketching, CAD modeling, and visualization, as well as presenting to colleagues and clients, explaining the rationale behind ideas. The candidate will also work closely with 2D and Technical designers to follow concepts through to development and production, ensuring the creative intent is upheld.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for Design, both in and out of work, and be able to share their knowledge and expertise with less senior team members to enable their development.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting research and gathering insights that consider psychology and customer behaviors
  • Taking briefs directly from clients and account managers
  • Generating creative concept design ideas through sketching, CAD modeling, and visualization
  • Presenting to colleagues and clients, explaining the rationale behind ideas
  • Working closely with 2D and Technical designers to follow concepts through to development and production

Requirements include:

  • Proficiency in 3DS Max/V-Ray/Adobe CC
  • Sketch-up experience would be an advantage
  • A passion for delivering retail experiences that consider the brand, customer, marketplace, and competitor landscape
  • A calm, positive, and can-do attitude when working on challenging projects
  • Able to present to a wider audience, engaging them in your story both internally and to clients
  • Work collaboratively, suggesting ideas and concepts in relation to challenging client briefs
  • Client-facing and able to build strategic customer relationships
  • Hardworking, with a strong work ethic, willing to deal with new challenges
  • Ability to identify new trends and innovation from a broad range of stimulus and resources
  • A sound understanding of marketing and brand communications
  • Evaluate/rationalize designs to arrive at relevant solutions through a process of creative exploration
  • Confident working as part of a team or independently
  • A good listener, able to take direction and understand the point of view of others, whilst also able to explain your own ideas effectively
  • Graphic design sensibilities are essential, capable of interpreting a brand's visual identity, producing concepts that align with the brand and will resonate with the target consumer
  • A thorough understanding of, and experience working with, materials, processes, and construction methods required to execute and deliver your proposed designs
  • Proactive, adaptable, and a flexible team player
  • Experience of a fast-paced business and industry
