Maintenance Engineer

Gap Technical Ltd is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their team at a national manufacturing company.

The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing and maintaining all on-site machinery, being reactive to breakdowns and using Planned Maintenance Systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair breakdowns
  • Perform planned maintenance and repairs
  • Analyse operational issues and provide technical support
  • Provide training and ensure full understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Plan and prioritise activities to ensure efficient operation
  • Apply health and safety practices at all times
  • Communicate and present data effectively
  • Use planned preventative maintenance systems and mechanical/electrical drawings
  • Design and implement cost-reductive changes
  • Ensure all steps of production run smoothly and efficiently
  • Follow the shift pattern as detailed in the engineering plan
  • Perform other reasonable tasks as agreed with the engineering manager
Requirements
  • Proven success as an Electrical or Multi-skilled Engineer
  • Familiarity with Siemens (s7) and Allen Bradley PLC's programming and fault finding
  • Experience of belt conveyor systems, vibratory conveyor systems, Multivac tray sealers and thermoformers, Sandiacre (Hayssen) bagging equipment, metal detection & checkweigher systems, palletisers
  • Experience of refrigeration equipment, boiler operation and control, and Fanuc robotics
  • Past experience of working in a food production environment
  • Positive attitude, able to deal with challenge and change in a fast-paced environment
  • Leadership, planning, and prioritisation skills
  • Good attention to detail
