About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Receptionist/Administrator to join our Urology Department at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

The successful candidate will have a methodical approach to work, be extremely well organized, and have a flexible attitude incorporating our Trust PRIDE values. Good communication skills are essential to this post.

The candidate will be responsible for supporting the Urology Continence Service, coordinating outpatient bookings, and providing reception cover in the Norfolk Physiology Unit when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a support service to the technical, secretarial, medical, and nursing staff of the Department.
  • Carry out receptionist duties, including prioritizing and arranging appointments and maintaining the various appointment systems.
  • Deal with patients and external and internal staff enquiries in person or via the telephone, in a courteous and confidential manner.
  • Ensure patients' safety and well-being in the waiting area prior to them being called for their appointment.
  • Keep a log of telephone requests for investigations in line with department policy.
  • Maintain a record of the transfer of notes to and from the department.
  • Understand the 18 Week Pathway and input the correct RTT codes.

Person Specification

  • Good general standard of literacy and numeracy.
  • Experience in NHS or customer service organization.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • IT skills - accurate data input.
  • Flexible - able to multi-task and prioritize.
