Fire Safety Supervisor

We are seeking a skilled Fire Safety Supervisor to join our team at Gi Group Recruitment. This role is based in Dorchester, and the ideal candidate will have experience in fire safety auditing and compliance.

About the Role

This is a six-month contract with a 37.5-hour workweek. The core hours are from 08:30 to 16:00, with flexibility for early starts or late finishes. The successful candidate will support the Fire Officer in providing technical guidance and advice on fire safety management to all levels of management and staff.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Fire Officer in providing expert professional guidance and support to managers and staff.
  • Managing, organizing, implementing, coordinating, and maintaining full and efficient fire safety practices and procedures.
  • Carrying out fire safety training for all trust staff.
  • Providing specialist advice to staff and outside contractors on statutory fire safety legislation.
  • Ensuring all staff have access to fire safety training annually.
  • Carrying out fire risk assessments and reviewing them annually.

We estimate the salary for this role to be around £19.10 per hour, based on national averages.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Training in healthcare fire safety.
  • Minimum three years' experience in fire safety auditing and compliance.
  • Experience of preparing and delivering training courses.
  • Practical knowledge and interpretation of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
  • Experience and knowledge of undertaking fire risk assessments.
  • Knowledge of fire legislation and codes of practice fire safety training.
  • Ability to undertake fire safety audits.
  • Knowledge and experience in the application of firecode.
  • Knowledge of risk management techniques.
  • Practical knowledge and interpretation of current building regulations.
  • Degree-level qualification or relevant demonstratable experience in fire safety auditing and compliance.
  • Membership of a professional organization (e.g., Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE), Institute of Fire Prevention Officers (IFPO)).
