Job Overview

At Legal & General we are seeking an experienced Digital Architecture Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting a wide range of architectural activities across the Group Architecture Practice.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Solution Design – Producing high-quality solution designs and adopting advanced patterns independently or supporting complex designs working alongside experienced architects.
  2. Assure Solutions – Supporting assurance processes that ensure solutions meet our business needs and minimize risk. Evaluating solutions against predefined assessment criteria.
  3. Accurate Documentation – Producing architecture artefacts, e.g. high-level designs, key decision documents. Ensuring Enterprise Architecture tooling records are updated and accurate.
  4. Solutions Delivery – Collaborating with project teams and Subject Matter Experts to support delivery. E.g. assurance of lower-level designs.
  5. Architecture Guidance – Offering guidance to individuals or projects on architecture processes and services.
  6. Improving Architecture – Supporting improvement initiatives that mature the architecture discipline, e.g. supporting tooling improvements, or optimizing processes.

Requirements

  • Qualifications – Appropriate qualifications in technical change or technology related subjects are desirable, but not essential. Alternatively, an academic background in technical subjects is desirable.
  • Architecture Knowledge – An understanding of architecture and how it adds value.
  • Technical Knowledge – Knowledge in technical subjects (e.g. data, systems, software, engineering) is a plus.
  • Technology Trends – An understanding of technology trends.
  • Curiosity for Architecture – A curiosity for architecture.

Experience

  • Communication – Communicating effectively with stakeholders, adapting style and content as necessary to land messages.
  • Technical Teams – Working in or with technical teams (e.g. engineering, software, security, change management).
  • Team Dynamics – Building successful working relationships and team dynamics in a matrix environment.
  • Practical Delivery – Practical, common-sense delivery of successful, collaborative solutions.
  • Process Improvement – Balancing day-to-day delivery with improving processes and work.
