The FP&A Team is a core part of the wider Marex Finance Team, which is continuously improving to help drive and support significant business growth across the Marex group.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will assist the Legal team with the management of legal risk arising from the Marex Solutions OTC derivatives business and advise the business directly on legal and regulatory issues that impact OTC derivatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drafting and negotiating various trading agreements, including ISDA, CSA, GMRA, GMSLA, and Confirmations.
  • Providing advice directly to the desk on queries and disputes arising from OTC transactions.
  • Reviewing contractual rights in the context of day-to-day operations and in stress and close-out situations.
  • Reviewing the viability of new product types and structures and the legal issues arising therefrom.
  • Reviewing jurisdictional requirements for cross-border activity the business wishes to undertake.
  • Liaising with external and internal stakeholders and clients, both in the UK and overseas.
  • Assisting the Legal department with other urgent or ad-hoc matters from time to time.

Requirements

  • A qualified lawyer with suitable post-qualification experience of up to 1 year, ideally with experience of working in-house.
  • A strong and broad understanding of financial markets and products.
  • Derivatives experience within any product group is essential; experience with or understanding of structured products is a plus.
  • Excellent organisation skills, good written and oral communication skills, and the ability to present complex issues concisely and clearly to the business.
  • Intellectually curious and keen to learn about new products and legal structures.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good team player.
  • Flexible and able to work well under pressure.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work to strict deadlines.
  • Strong academic results, including 2.1 or above at degree level.
