About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager/Director, Procurement and Supply Chain to join our team at George Clinical. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong vendor relationships, as well as collaborating with internal stakeholders to achieve seamless collaboration between vendors and project leaders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procurement and Supply Chain Strategy: Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company's objectives, including identifying cost reduction opportunities through strategic sourcing and supplier management initiatives.
  • Vendor Relationship Management: Organize and lead procurement activities, including managing and tracking the request for proposal (RFP) lifecycle, negotiating preferential pricing, and establishing and tracking towards savings targets.
  • Process Improvement: Develop and implement tools and processes to support efficient and quality-driven procurement activities, including contract standardization and automation.
  • Market Trend Analysis: Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the industry's market trends and developments, and lead transformational activities to build organizational procurement capabilities and improve procurement efficiency.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to ensure the best possible prices and agreements, and advise on contract negotiations, vendor selection, and risk assessment.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance in purchasing process, especially in vendor selection and bidding, and identify and mitigate risks associated with procurement activities.
  • Performance Metrics: Track and analyze procurement data to identify trends and areas for improvement, and collaborate with finance and other departments to develop and monitor cost-saving initiatives.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 7 years Category Management/Strategic Procurement/Vendor Management experience, plus IT Category Management experience required.
  • Educated to a bachelor's degree level.
  • Experience in developing and implementing procurement processes, strategies, and best practices with strong contract management skills.
  • Ability to foster and maintain relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements related to procurement processes.
  • Analytical in nature with excellent communication skills - strong interpersonal, negotiation ability with exceptional problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in using procurement software and tools.
  • Ideal candidates would have experience within the field of clinical vendor operational delivery or hands-on experience in the management of clinical vendor services.
  • Experience in managing the scoping of clinical vendor services for complex sponsor protocols and familiarity with vendor startup/operational activities during maintenance phase.
  • Experience in working with multiple stakeholders, including sponsors, in the development and finalization of vendor scope of service.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting difficult conversations and negotiating with sponsors as well as vendors.
  • Preferred background in life science, pharmacy, health-related discipline, business administration, management, IT or other relevant experience within clinical vendor management required.
