Senior Pharmacy Technician

About the Role
Barts Health NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic pharmacy team at the Newham University Hospital. As a key member of the clinical and operational pharmacy team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care through efficient medicines optimisation and supply.
Main Responsibilities
- Undertake projects to support the development of systems for service provision, enhancing the efficiency of the service.
- Provide a Medicines Management service to ward areas, working unsupervised in clinical areas.
- Day-to-day line management of pharmacy support workers undertaking QCF/NVQ level 2 and 3 and ACPT.
- Undertake duties and responsibilities as an Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT).
- Participate in the recruitment and selection of Pharmacy staff.
- Provide a patient-facing service to inpatient wards, including the appropriate use and supply of medicines, obtaining medication histories, and communicating discrepancies to relevant healthcare professionals.
Requirements
- Level 3 Diploma in Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians or equivalent.
- Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) qualification.
- HEE LaSE Medicines Optimisation qualification or equivalent.
- Experience of working in a hospital pharmacy setting, with significant experience as a pharmacy technician and medicines management experience in a ward-based setting.
