Kilwaughter Minerals Ltd is a leading manufacturer of minerals-based products and we are currently seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our operations team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production plant, conducting planned preventative maintenance and responding to breakdowns in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring compliance with Health, Safety and Well-being policies / procedures to deliver a safety-first culture
  • Bringing root cause expertise to accurately fault find problems, delivering highly effective solutions that prevent re-occurring problems
  • Developing and reporting concise data driven metrics to inform priorities and action plans
  • Undertaking repairs, servicing and maintenance of a wide range of production plant and machinery to the highest standard and pre-determined specifications and relevant legislation
  • Developing, maintaining and implementing planned maintenance schedules and routines for all plant
  • Fault finding, testing and the removal or adjustment of existing fittings, fixtures and parts
  • Responsibility to ensure that adequate stock levels are maintained for all critical spares to provide efficient planned work and that all necessary records are completed accurately
  • Complying with all company policy to include environmental/energy and procedures in both normal and emergency situations
  • Maintaining collaborative working practices, building strong relationships with all internal stakeholders to contribute towards the production of high-quality product to exceed customer expectations

A salary of approximately £45,000 - £65,000 per annum is available for this role, depending on experience.

Requirements include:

  • An HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification
  • Time served Mechanical background
  • A minimum of 5 years experience gained in a manufacturing environment, or similar role
  • Proven experience working with Mechanical drive systems
  • Proven experience working with Pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Experience working with servicing, repairs and maintenance of plant machinery
  • Knowledge of current H&S legislation
  • Root cause analysis & fault-finding experience
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply information from files, technical drawings, catalogues, reports, and manuals
