Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Furniture Restoration Specialist to join our team at CV-Library in St Leonards on Sea, East Sussex.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience within an upholstery position, with a strong background in quality checking and the ability to use staple guns and furniture upholstery tools. They will also be able to read drawings and follow instructions accurately.

About the Role

  • Maintaining personal protective equipment at all times
  • Ensuring correct use of staple guns and tools
  • Being aware of quality and using materials effectively to avoid waste and unnecessary cost
  • Checking all work for defects, such as flaws, items cut and sewn incorrectly, as well as own workmanship to ensure a high-quality upholstered piece of furniture
  • Helping fellow team members with lifting
  • Reporting problems to the supervisor or trainer
  • Asking for help if unsure with anything new or old
  • Being responsible for their own shadow board and ensuring that all tools are correct at the end of the shift
  • Assisting with keeping the working area neat, clean and tidy, and emptying bins when required
  • Ensuring that all gangways and fire exits are kept clear
  • Participating in CANDO activities for the department/surrounding area
  • Complying with company policies and adhering to rules and regulations
  • Carrying out duties reasonably requested by the line manager from time to time
  • Playing an integral part in meeting the department's targets
  • Reporting areas of concern regarding raw materials, below standard products, low stock levels, tool malfunctions, etc. to the Line Manager

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience within an upholstery position
  • Ability to use a staple gun as well as furniture upholstery tools
  • Quality checking experience
  • Ability to read drawings and follow instruction
  • Strong team player

Working Hours and Location

Monday – Thursday: 8am – 5pm
Friday: 7am – 12pm

39 hours per week

Temp-Perm Position

St Leonards on Sea, East Sussex

Salary

£25,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience
