University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Radiation Oncology Therapist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, pre-treatment, and treatment of patients using ionising radiation. Key responsibilities include working as a member of a team in all areas of the department within a rota system, performing such duties as are required, complying with all trust and departmental policies, procedures, and protocols, ensuring a patient-centred approach to the radiotherapy service, and participating in research projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the efficient, accurate patient-focused planning and delivery of ionising radiation following evidence-based protocols.
  • Assist in the development of protocols, documentation systems, standards, policies, and clinical guidelines for use by the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Able to participate in service improvement projects including working with the multidisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate will have evidence of radiotherapy planning, scanning, and/or treating patients including IGRT/IMRT, therapeutic radiography qualification taught in English/IELTS Level 7, and advanced communication training. Salary: £25,680 - £34,980 per annum (Band 5).
