IT Infrastructure Specialist

Jas Gujral is seeking an IT Infrastructure Specialist to join our team. As an IT Infrastructure Specialist, you will be responsible for the support and maintenance of our IT infrastructure, and providing IT support to staff and other group colleagues. Your role will involve assisting in the response to service outages and other IT-related problems, as well as maintenance and upkeep of security systems. You will also be responsible for providing IT support and assistance to branch staff concerning IT-related matters in a timely fashion. Your duties will include maintaining the IT infrastructure of the Branch by providing first-line support for software, hardware, and networking, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting. You will also be required to manage day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope, assist the IT Manager in delivering various IT projects, and coordinate between the London Users and Group IT Security on all requests for systems access. Additionally, you will be responsible for implementing Disaster Recovery and backup procedures to preserve the Branch's assets and ensure compliance with Group requirements. You will also provide IT support to ensure the smooth running of daily and periodic reports for the London Compliance team, undertake Data Extraction for reporting requirements for other stakeholders at the Branch, and monitor overall networking equipment (i.e., Network Switches, Firewall, and other appliances) and support inclusive of the server room. You will also plan and carry out maintenance checks to ensure IT Operations and infrastructures are running smoothly, manage inventory of computers and network equipment, including tracking purchased equipment and services, and perform monthly infrastructure tests and report for Risk Assessment. Finally, you will manage Incident Handling procedures, including monitoring and post-incident follow-up, and comply with all applicable FCA/PRA conduct rules and mandatory training as set by the Branch/Group.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master's degree or professional qualification in relevant discipline (IT/Information Systems/Computer Science/Technology/Programming/Information Science/System Engineering/Computing)
  • At least 3 years of experience in IT, ideally in the Banking/Financial industry, with in-depth knowledge of and troubleshooting experience with Windows, Office applications, and conferencing applications
  • Proficient in common operating systems, software proficiency, networking (IT), programming languages, project management, and data analysis
  • Strong interpersonal skills and strong written and verbal communication skills (in English)
