About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Sustainability and Carbon Strategy Lead to join our team at AtkinsRéalis. As a key member of our Sustainability and Carbon team, you will be responsible for leading on carbon and sustainability strategies for our major infrastructure projects and strategic clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement innovative carbon and sustainability strategies, designs, solutions, and management plans.
- Project manage and coordinate sustainability inputs on major infrastructure projects.
- Represent the company at external networks and build personal, team, and company reputation.
- Lead and support bid proposals, ensuring win themes are retained throughout.
- Lead the Manchester/Northern team of sustainability and carbon specialists, providing line management duties and supporting team development.
Requirements:
- Education to degree level in an environmental or engineering related discipline, and chartered with a recognised professional body.
- Prior experience and up-to-date knowledge in carbon accounting, decarbonisation/net zero roadmaps, sustainability assessments, whole life carbon, sustainability reporting, sustainability strategy, and supply chain engagement.
- Strong report writing, communication, and presentation skills, tailored to a range of audiences, seniorities, and technical competencies.
- Understanding of UK sustainability and carbon guidance and standards used within infrastructure and corporate reporting, across both the public and private sector.
- Eagerness to lead, support, and develop direct reports within a team.
