We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Engineer to join our team at MWH Treatment. As a key member of our Delivery team, you will play a critical role in coordinating effective and economic plant design and procurement strategies.

Key responsibilities will include:

  1. Ensuring project costs are managed within budget and do not exceed tender or varied allowances.
  2. Coordinating the timely submission of applications for payment and ensuring all financial obligations are met.
  3. Developing and maintaining contract reviews, monthly forecasts, and submitting them on time.
  4. Maintaining strong relationships with clients at all levels and ensuring their needs are met.
  5. Assisting in the development of the Project Management strategy and ensuring its effective implementation.
  6. Establishing and maintaining contract filing systems and ensuring all necessary documentation is up-to-date.
  7. Assisting in the production of the contract programme and monitoring progress to ensure timely completion.
  8. Providing data for the timely production of O&M manuals and ensuring they are accurate and comprehensive.
  9. Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
  10. Liaising with site management on design and procurement issues and ensuring they are addressed promptly.
  11. Monitoring subcontract performance and taking corrective action as necessary.
  12. Assisting in the preparation of construction completion and take-over documentation.
  13. Ensuring continuous professional development by participating in external networking, conferences, associations, and groups to stay current on industry changes and innovations.
  14. Maintaining a positive and solution-oriented approach to work, providing open and honest feedback, and ensuring a professional image of the department and MWH Treatment is maintained.
  15. Undertaking additional duties, training, and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and consistent with the general level of responsibility of this role.
  16. Ensuring confidentiality is maintained in all internal and external interactions.
  17. Working closely with design departments to ensure timely progression of quality solutions.
  18. Evaluating innovative solutions and processes to improve project outcomes.
  19. Contributing to risk and opportunity schedules on a monthly basis.
  20. Ensuring designs are developed that are safe to construct, commission, operate, and maintain.
  21. Completing the capitalisation process and ensuring all necessary documentation is accurate and up-to-date.

Essential Requirements:

  • Good engineering background and working knowledge of various conditions of contract, especially NEC.
  • Engineering/Technical qualification (HNC minimum) required.
  • Experience of supply chain expedition and knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes.
  • CDM & Health & Safety knowledge.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Relevant professional qualification an advantage.
  • Collaborative approach and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
