Job Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team at The Gallery Trust. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of our students with special needs and disabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in the classroom, providing individualized support to students as needed

• Help to create a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting social and emotional development

• Support students with physical and medical needs, including administering medication and providing personal care

• Assist with lesson planning and preparation, helping to develop engaging and accessible learning materials

• Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to ensure seamless communication and coordination of student support

Requirements

• Level 2 (GCSE or equivalent) in mathematics and English, or suitable equivalent experience

• Understanding of child development and learning, with a commitment to ongoing professional development

• Ability to work flexibly, adapting to changing circumstances and priorities

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building strong relationships with students, staff, and parents

• Willingness to undertake physical management of pupils, following appropriate training, and to attend to the medical, first aid, and personal needs of students

• Ability to take an active role in the support of PE lessons, promoting physical activity and well-being
