Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Control professional to join our team in Manchester, contributing to the evolution of our city by ensuring high-quality, safe, inclusive, and sustainable developments.

About the Role

This exciting position involves working as a Specialist Building Control Inspector, responsible for enforcing building regulations and providing expert advice on construction projects. The ideal candidate will possess excellent knowledge of building control laws and procedures, along with strong communication skills to effectively engage with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enforce building regulations and ensure compliance with relevant laws and standards.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor progress and identify potential issues.
  • Provide expert advice on construction projects, including design and implementation.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to resolve technical issues and promote best practices.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A degree in a related discipline (e.g., architecture, engineering, or construction management).
  • Professional membership of a building control-related organization (e.g., CABE, RICS, or CIOB).
  • Excellent knowledge of building control laws and procedures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
