Operational Supervisor Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Operational Supervisor to join our Environmental and Operational Services team at South Holland District Council.

About the Role:

  • Lead and supervise a large team of front-line staff, ensuring the delivery of operational services in a safe and timely manner.
  • Maintain, integrate, and improve the delivery of operational services, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
  • Liaise closely with various stakeholders across the Council to ensure the continuity of day-to-day operational services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and motivate a diverse team, creating a cohesive and strong team ethos.
  • Work to and produce accurate work to deadlines, demonstrating attention to detail and adaptability to changing priorities.
  • Communicate effectively at all levels, both verbally and in writing.
  • Hold a Category C driving licence with a valid CPC.
  • Use Microsoft Office and navigate a range of computer systems and in-cab technology.
  • Demonstrate experience of HSE and understanding of HR policies and principles.
