Job Description

At Serco Plc, we are seeking a highly skilled Technical Superintendent to join our Marine Technical Services team in Plymouth. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to take on a challenging role and contribute to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Management: Oversee the technical aspects of vessel operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and Company policies.
  • Vessel Maintenance: Coordinate and manage the maintenance of assigned vessels, including planned maintenance and repairs.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and ensure adherence to Class and Flag Survey and Certification requirements.
  • People Management: Supervise and mentor afloat engineering staff, promoting a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Financial Management: Monitor and control expenditure for assigned vessels, ensuring alignment with delegated budgets and governance policies.
Requirements:
  • At least 5 years of relevant sea-going experience at a senior level in the commercial marine industry.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of engineering and technical best practices.
  • Experience in people management and team development.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
