The Role

  • As a Senior Chassis Design Engineer at Contechs Consulting Ltd, you will be responsible for supporting the design and development of significant components and systems related to bodywork, lighting, and seating on a range of new motorcycles.
  • You will have the responsibility for designing and developing parts to production-level design.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Designing high-quality components and systems for new class-leading motorcycles.
  • Creating accurate CAD models, assemblies, and technical drawings to company standards.
  • Ensuring timely release of all components and design changes in keeping with project timelines.
  • Incorporating DFA/DFM/DFMEA learning into component design.
  • Communicating effectively with internal departments and suppliers to ensure quality design and feasibility.
  • Following and policing company, departmental, and quality policies.
  • Applying relevant industry standards and benchmarking competitor components.
  • Presenting design data in reviews with management.
  • Attending and contributing to engineering reviews and discussions.
  • Providing technical support and sharing knowledge with the team.

Person Specification

  • Understanding of engineering fundamentals in component and assembly design.
  • Risk identification and mitigation.
  • Mechanical Engineering Degree with a grade of 2:1 or above.
  • Practical hands-on engineering and mechanical experience.
  • CREO experience is essential.
  • Understanding of motorcycle chassis design and its interaction with powertrain and electronics.
