CDL Personnel Ltd is a leading recruitment agency specialising in placements for various industries. We are currently seeking an experienced Heavy Goods Vehicle Maintenance Technician to join our prestigious client in Essex.

Job Overview:

We are looking for a skilled technician to undertake maintenance and repair duties on a wide range of vehicles, equipment, and plant. The successful candidate will have previous experience in servicing heavy goods vehicles, light commercial, and municipal vehicles.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the day-to-day running of the vehicle workshop, including operational requirements and liaison with refuse crews, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Undertake routine and reactive vehicle, plant, and equipment maintenance, including fault finding, major overhauls, and replacements.
  • Perform cleaning tasks on vehicles, plant, and equipment, inside and out.
  • Conduct driving duties, including road testing, recovery, collection, and delivery of vehicles and materials.
  • Attend vehicle breakdowns and conduct roadside repairs as necessary.
  • Provide general support and assistance to the Workshop Manager.
  • Assist in scheduling repairs and ordering/receiving parts, ensuring accurate stock levels are maintained.
  • E nsure the security of the workshop and associated facilities.
  • Maintain the workshop and associated facilities in a clean and tidy condition.
  • Complete documentation and maintain accurate records.

Requirements:

  • A valid Class 2 HGV License.
  • Previous experience in vehicle repair/maintenance.
  • A flexible approach and ability to work well in a team environment.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong mechanical background and be able to diagnose faults accurately. You will also need to be physically fit and able to lift heavy objects.

Estimated Salary Range: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience.
