Pastoral Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Support Assistant to join our friendly and inclusive secondary school in Hertford. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for supporting young people, ensuring their well-being, and fostering a positive and supportive school environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide emotional and pastoral support to students across the school, acting as a point of contact for those experiencing personal, social, or emotional challenges.
- Work collaboratively with students and staff to ensure positive behavior and school engagement, promoting a culture of respect and inclusivity.
- Support attendance initiatives and work closely with students and families to improve attendance where needed, addressing underlying issues and providing guidance.
- Assist in the planning and delivery of interventions that promote well-being and mental health, collaborating with teachers, SEN staff, and external agencies to provide holistic support.
- Experience working with young people in a pastoral, educational, or youth work capacity, with a strong understanding of the challenges faced by students.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families, and manage sensitive situations with confidentiality and professionalism.
- A compassionate, patient, and understanding approach, with a commitment to promoting the welfare and safeguarding of all students.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meet the needs of the school and its students.
