Job Title: Senior Tax Manager

Job Summary:
iQ Student Accommodation is seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager Lead to join its Tax Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering tax advisory, compliance, and accounting services across the organization. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior tax professional to take on a leadership role in a dynamic and fast-paced company.

About the Role:
The Senior Tax Manager will have primary responsibility for managing tax-related activities, including provision of tax advice, management of tax due diligence, and delivery of tax training needs within the business. The successful candidate will also work closely with the Tax Director to maintain relationships with HMRC, external advisers, and internal stakeholders. In addition, they will oversee process improvements, monitor changes to tax risk documentation, and stay up-to-date with new developments in tax law.

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide internal tax advice on transactions, operations, and construction
* Manage tax-related due diligence consideration and delivery
* Deliver tax training needs within the business
* Oversee indirect tax compliance using internal and external resources
* Work with the Tax Director to maintain relationships with HMRC, external advisers, and internal stakeholders
* Monitor required changes to tax risk documentation and related policies
* Stay up-to-date with new developments in tax law and ensure iQ's compliance

Requirements:
* Qualified CTA and/or ACA or equivalent
* Extensive knowledge of UK taxes, particularly in the Real Estate sector and with a focus on indirect taxes
* Awareness of other tax jurisdictions used to hold UK real estate (e.g. Luxembourg/Jersey/Guernsey)
* Strong tax experience in a large accounting firm or equivalent tax experience with a large private tax department
* Experience in the UK real estate/property/construction sector, both in an operational and transactional setting with a good understanding of partial exemption issues
* Ability to work with finance professionals and understand accounting principles
* Excellent communication and relationship management skills
* Ability to explain technical tax terms and implications to non-specialist professionals
* Commercial mindset – ability to identify improvements and cost savings
* Organised and self-motivated
* Experience in managing a team and interacting with those outside of the tax team to deliver on a range of projects simultaneously

Salary:
£62,000 - £82,000 per annum depending on experience.
