Primary School Teaching Assistant

Stafflex Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support primary schools in Huddersfield. As a General ETA, you will work collaboratively with teachers to assist in classroom activities, help manage student behaviour, and provide support to ensure a productive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Classroom Support: Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and classroom activities, promoting student engagement and understanding.
- Behaviour Management: Help manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment, ensuring students feel safe and supported.
- Student Support: Provide general support to students, helping them with classwork and developing their skills, particularly in areas such as maths and English.
- Resource Preparation: Prepare and organise teaching materials and resources, ensuring they are accessible and effective for students.
- Supervision: Supervise students during non-instructional times, such as lunch and recess, promoting a safe and respectful environment.
- Experience: Experience working with children or young people, preferably in a school setting, is essential for this role.
- Organisational Skills: Strong organisational and communication skills are required to work effectively with teachers and students.
- Qualifications: A minimum of a Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools is required, along with maths and English qualifications of Level 2 or above.
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new situations.
- DBS Check: An enhanced DBS check registered with the DBS Update Service is required, or a willingness to obtain one.
