About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Ecologist to join our arboriculture division in South Wales. The successful candidate will play a key role in conducting ecological surveys, producing reports, and providing ecological advice to our vegetation management operatives and clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting ecological surveys and assessments in accordance with relevant legislation, guidelines, and best practice standards.
  • Producing high-quality ecological reports, including impact assessments, mitigation strategies, and habitat management plans.
  • Providing ecological advice and support to clients, including liaising with statutory bodies, local authorities, and other stakeholders.
  • Managing projects effectively, ensuring deadlines are met, and work is delivered to a high standard.
  • Undertaking research and keeping up to date with developments in ecological science and legislation.
  • Contributing to the development of proposals and tenders for new work.
Requirements
  • A degree in ecology.
  • Experience in applying for licenses, particularly for Dormouse and Bat licenses.
  • A full UK driving license.
  • Proven experience in watching briefs.
  • A strong understanding of UK and EU wildlife legislation and policy.
  • Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) membership.
