About the Role:

Example Recruitment is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our dynamic construction group. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in leading the growth plan, aiming to expand from a £15 million construction group to a £40 million group of companies over the next three years.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the first point of contact with clients during the tender stage, providing expert advice and guidance.
  • Manage current and future tenders, collaborating with our in-house Operations Team and subcontractors to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Price tenders using a combination of subcontractors and our direct labor pool, ensuring maximum profitability.
  • Prepare tender handover packs for our Operational and Commercial delivery teams, ensuring all necessary information is included.
  • Assist in maximizing project profitability, identifying areas for cost savings and implementing effective solutions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships to open new revenue streams in line with company targets, expanding our client base and increasing revenue.
  • Maintain an awareness of the broader business and service offerings, effectively communicating with clients and customers as needed.

Requirements:

  • Relevant degree qualification or HNC in a construction-related field.
  • At least five years of experience in a similar role, with a strong current knowledge of the construction industry and a solid reputation.
  • Experience pricing projects ranging from £500k to £5m, with a proven track record of success.
  • Competence in carrying out measurements, take-offs, and first principle calculations, with a thorough understanding of standard forms of contract, including JCT and NEC.
  • Proficiency in package analysis following initial tender inquiries to ensure no scope gap, with the ability to create headline/tender programs.
  • Proficiency with IT, including Microsoft Office and estimating packages/tools, with strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, with a capacity to manage a high workload volume with a flexible approach.
  • Excellent presentation skills, both written and verbal, with effective communication at all levels within and outside the organization.
  • Motivation to stay updated with industry changes and developments, with a strong desire to contribute to the growth and success of our company.

What We Offer:

  • Base salary ranging between £80,000 to £100,000 per annum, depending on experience.
  • Fuel card for business travel, with a company bonus scheme and company pension scheme.
