About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned finance professional to join our team as a Head of Finance at Amazon EU SARL (UK Branch). This is a highly visible role that requires a strong leader and open communicator.

As a key member of our finance team, you will have a direct impact on our top and bottom line with the ability to deliver improvements for our teams. You will have ownership for the implementation of your work and see direct business improvements based on the results of your work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive the core financial processes for the organization, including Annual Operating Plans, 3-year Strategic Plan, and Monthly/Quarterly Business Reviews.
  • Educate business partners on financial and non-financial tradeoffs, and make thoughtful judgment calls in ambiguous environments where data may be scarce or difficult to procure.
  • Analyze ROI of different programs/initiatives and generate actionable insights from large amounts of data.

You will be joining a high-performing, fast-paced finance team whose mission is to be the trusted strategic advisor to the business, driving profitable growth and scale through innovation.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics, or business, or a Bachelor's degree and experience in a quantitative role.
  • Experience in tax, finance, or a related analytical field.
  • Experience in multiple finance and accounting roles.
  • Experience in accounts receivable or account payable.
  • Experience applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses.
  • Experience in building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making.
  • Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis.
  • Experience participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA or CPA.
  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL.
  • Experience in identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause, and creating/implementing an escalation plan.
  • Experience in solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business.
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools and other financial systems.
  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results.
