Job Title: Academic Support Specialist

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Tutor to provide one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions to looked after children (LAC) across Bradford. As an Academic Support Specialist, you will focus on social and academic support, building confidence, and helping students overcome barriers to learning.

About the Role:
  • Deliver personalized tutoring in core subjects such as English, Maths, and Science, as well as other subjects as required.
  • Work closely with social workers, carers, and educational professionals to monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies.
  • Prepare students for exams and help them develop study skills and strategies.

Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS), PTTLS, or relevant tutoring experience in a similar role with at least a B.Ed, MA or PhD.
  • Experience working with LAC or vulnerable young people is highly desirable.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to helping young people succeed.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).

Estimated Salary: £25-30 per hour
